I recommend this flight school: Yes
Pros
Very friendly staff members and instructors. |
Cons
Lack of a flight training curriculum (sport pilot). |
My Review of Beverly Flight Center:
There is a good selection of aircraft including one light sport aircraft (LSA) for sport pilot training and rental (a PiperSport). My instructor was extremely patient, very friendly, and instilled so much self-confidence. All staff, including the owner, are very friendly and polite.
My only complaint was that there was no plan for the flight lessons, lists of the steps, requirements and performance expectations. Right when I finished all my requirements last August and thought that I was ready to take my practical test, I was told that first I had to do another lesson with my instructor AND then do one more check ride with another instructor. Hence, my practical test was delayed for over two months due to my summer vacation plans, work schedule, then scheduling conflicts. If I knew all these requirements (some imposed by the flight school, not FAA) in advance, I would have planned my flight training accordingly.
So, if you decide getting your training at this flight school, first sit down and discuss all the requirements and expectations. Ask them for a training plan, so that everyone is on the same page.
