My Review of Kirst Aviation:
After many years of wanting to learn to fly, I came across info on the Light Sport rating for pilots. I tried for several years in several different parts of the U.S., but was unable to put together the time, money, and an instructor willing to teach for the Light Sport Certificate. When I was working in Fairbanks Alaska, I learned that Kirst Aviation was the only instructor in Fairbanks that taught Light Sport. I called and spoke with Forest Kirst on the phone and he invited me to go for an introductory flight. Shortly thereafter we went on a flight in his Ercoupe 415C, with him letting me operate the controls for most of the flight. I found Forest to be friendly, very knowledgeable, full of encouragement, fun, always ready to answer questions, flexible in scheduling and instruction, and focused on helping me to obtain my Light Sport Certificate at the most reasonable cost. I WAS able to pass all of the necessary examinations and acquire my Light Sport License. I consider it one of my proudest accomplishments, and Forest Kirst was a large part of why I was able to accomplish it.
